Window Snowflakes are So Easy using Window Snow Spray!

Want to create some easy Christmas window snowflakes for decorations?? Grab some window snow spray and a stencil (or make your own!) and have fun!

“… Walking in a winter wonderland…” is running through my head as I turn our home into a winter wonderland for Christmas, and have gone crazy with snow!

I moved on from flocking my trees and garland (click here to check out my flocking tutorial!) to Christmas window snowflakes using window snow spray.

It’s so easy and fun to create the look of snow outside especially if you live in a place where it never snows, like us!  I saw this idea somewhere on Pinterest and knew I needed to try it.

It’s nice to cover up a few of our green trees and pool by using a DIY stencil and some Santa snow spray.  My kids love it and my youngest kept asking to put more fake snow on windows and doors!

All you need to create a snow window is a few supplies including spray snow for windows! I even have a FREE snowflake SVG file for you to use.

Creating a DIY Stencil in Cricut Design Space

First, you will need to cut a snowflake out of the Grafix plastic. You can download a snowflake and upload it to Cricut Design Space or use one of their snowflakes in Cricut Access. (Or use my free snowflake SVG from below!)

You need one that doesn’t have a bunch of holes in the center piece.  The simpler the better!  These are the ones I used.

The red one had some small cutouts at the center but it ended up being just a big circle.

Cut them on different sheets and put the snowflake in the middle of the mat before you cut it.

Now the setting is a bit tricky.  I tried a bunch before I got one that worked.  I set the dial to custom and set it to Light Chipboard and default pressure.  It will go over the cut 2 to 3 times so don’t take it out after the first cut!

Once it’s cut, peel the plastic sheet off.  (Sorry, it’s really hard to take a picture of a clear sheet!)

How to Spray Snow on Windows

Then you’re just going to hold the snowflake stencil up to the window and spray with Santa Snow Spray over the cut out part.

It’s best to take it off by holding two corners.  Put the can down and hold two opposite sides and pull it straight off.

It might smudge a little.  If the snow spray smudges too much you can always wipe it off and do it again.

Spray the window snowflakes on wherever you want.

The stencil might start getting too loaded with snow and smudge more so just clean it off with water, dry it, and keep going.  I think I washed mine after every 4 snowflakes.

Then you can spray some snow along the bottom of the window and up the sides if you want.  Easy and quick, right??

It looks really cool at night.  (It’s hard to get good pictures of it during the day)

Sometimes the file will look blurry when you first open it, but once you download it, the SVG will open up clearly.

If it doesn’t automatically download, you might need to right-click on it and Save As. If you need additional help, make sure to check out my post on how to download and upload files to CDS.

I was unable to view your instructions. I kept having pop ups ever where and if I was able to close them, another would replace it immediately. Or when I tried to close them, it opened another site for them. I never saw so many pop ups on one website. I wish I was able to view your instructions for making snow flake with spray snow on my windows. But I am sure I will find another site without pop ups covering the entire screen.

Hi Lucy, I don't have any popups on my site. A lot of times, pop-ups are from a virus on your computer. I would look into having someone figure out where they are coming from.
