How to Make Cute Handmade Ornaments You’ll Love for Cheap!

Learn how to make buffalo plaid handmade ornaments from scrap wood, fabric, and appliques.  Perfect to add to your buffalo plaid Christmas decor!

Every Black Friday, my family decorates our house for Christmas.  We crank up the holiday music, remove box after box from the attic, and being a person that doesn’t like change, we arrange all the decorations in the same places.  We even have boxes labeled with what rooms everything goes in.

After living in our home for 14 years, I am reluctantly facing my fear of change… and let me tell you, I’m loving it!  I have made a ton of new Christmas decorations that make me smile every time I look at them.

Last year I went crazy flocking all the faux Christmas greenery and this year I am adding buffalo check decor to the mix.  My newly flocked thrift store tree was begging for some ornaments, so I grabbed some scrap wood and fabric and whipped up these easy handmade ornaments.

You are in luck because this tutorial is part of the Creative Christmas Challenge hosted by Remodelaholic, so you’ll get a ton more inspiration of more DIY holiday projects at the end of the post (plus a whole playlist!!)

I know not all of you own a Cricut (click here to find out what it can do!), so I will be showing you how to make buffalo plaid ornaments with and without a cutting machine.
