Applying Glitter and Mod Podge to Tumbler

This is one of my last glitter tumbler tutorials for you and I finally made a video of the first part of the process!  I know, a little backward, but it’s also one of the easiest steps.

Since I have so many tutorials explaining how to make the tumblers, I’m only going to give brief steps here. Make sure to hop on over to the other tutorials from the links provided.

This time I purchased a powder coated clearance mug at Wal-Mart for $5 so I didn’t even have to spray paint the bottom coat!  Check out the video tutorial on how to apply the mod podge and glitter.

Sometimes the video moves so it might be at the top or the side of the post. Make sure to turn the volume if you want to hear me explain what I’m doing!

Once the glitter layer is dry, you will want to add your first layer of epoxy.  For my full tutorial on how to apply epoxy resin with video click here!  If you would prefer to use mod podge instead of epoxy, click here for tutorial.

After your first layer of epoxy is completely dry, you’ll want to add your vinyl (I used holographic vinyl) decal.  Check out my tutorial here on how to apply vinyl to a stainless steel cup easily.

I added the split letter monogram with a name on the front and an image I found on google of a dog to the back.

Then you’ll apply the second layer of epoxy resin and you’re done!

The holographic vinyl is fun and looks different colors in different lighting.  I love it!

Do you have to paint the cups or mugs ? I have 2 stainless steel cups and I’m wondering if I can just put glitter on without painting it ?

No, you don't have to paint them! It just covers up the silver in case you miss a few spots with the glitter.

What font did you use for the names inside your split letter monograms on the tumbler?

I believe that was Amastery Hand. It came in a duo with Amastery Script which is one of my faves!
